Buying a home can feel like a whirlwind, here is a step by step overview to help guide you throughout the process:
1. Meet with a Real Estate Professional - discuss the type of home you're looking for, price range, style, and location
2. Get Pre-Approved - meet with a local lender, you'll need pay stubs, W2s, government issued identification, and bank statements. Knowing what you can afford is a crucial part to your home purchase journey
3. Search for Homes- The best part! Your agent will schedule showings and help you find your dream home.
4. Make an Offer - your agent will prepare the offer based on the price and terms of your choosing
5. Negotiation and Contract - your agent will negotiate on your behalf, once all parties have come to an agreement, you are under contract!
6. In Escrow- you are almost there! A third party (Title Company) is hired to handle the property transaction, the exchange of money and any related documents.
7. Perform Due Diligence - during this time you will conduct an inspection, order the appraisal, and review your loan terms with your lender
9. Signing Final Documents- the title company will coordinate a time for you to sign all your final documents at their office or with a notary.
8. Closing Day - You did it! Transfer of funds and ownership is finalized and the home is yours!
